Welcome

Founded in 2006 by one of the UK’s leading equine sportsmen, Emile Faurie, The Emile Faurie Foundation is a unique collaboration of schools, riding establishments and fundraisers whose aim is to help as many children as possible experience the joys and benefits of horsemanship.

We offer courses of lessons to youngsters for whom riding may not otherwise be within reach – either because of location, resources or family support. These courses teach more than just riding; they develop life skills such as self-confidence, responsibility and discipline – and can have a positive impact on academic performance too.

"It makes a massive difference to the children – we teach in a really underprivileged area and most of the kids have never seen a horse before, but they love it !"
P.E. Teacher, Buile Hill High School, Salford, Manchester.

And here are some comments from the children:

Shanice aged 12 –
‘Horse Riding means a lot to me because it helps me off the street and to feel safe around horses’.

Tommy –aged 11
‘It’s fun because you get to go fast and it helps me with my anger and it teaches me how to respect things’.
