2008 was a very busy and important year for the Foundation. The Charity has made much progress and has been able to fund a number of projects helping to enrich many children’s lives in inner cities.
Fund raising has been ongoing and with generous donations from individuals and a Trust Fund, the Foundation is in a strong position to continue funding projects started in 2007 and fund new projects.
Emile presented to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
In 2008 Emile was also invited to attend an awards ceremony for the Ebony Riding Club in Brixton where Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall presented the awards. She spoke to Emile afterwards about the Foundation’s work. Emile had presented the Ebony Riding Club with a cheque for £2,000 at Hickstead CDIO back in July and has been able to continue funding the Club into 2009 with another cheque!
Finchcocks & Strictly Come Dressage
Major fund raising events during 2008 included an Auction of Promises held at a Finchcocks Music Museum last June and just before Christmas 'Strictly Come Dressage Competition' at Oldencraig Equestrian Centre (filming took part and will be on BBC 3 SOON!]
Project funding
Other projects the Foundation is continuing to fund for 2009 include :
The Trojan Project in Glasgow, Scotland which deals with older children.
Buille Hill High School in Salford, Manchester.
Greenwich, London in partnership with the British Equestrian Federation.
The Compass Project, a Youth Project which helps under privileged children in Manchester.
A number of other projects are being considered in Hull, Newcastle and Liverpool.
Emile is hoping to visit as many children as possible through the Year to see their progress and encourage them with their riding.
The Foundation is also the chosen Charity for the forthcoming BETA Gala Dinner which will help to boost funds and raise awareness.
