Ebony Riding ClubJuly 2008 Press Release

At the recent Hickstead CDIO Emile Fauire presented a cheque to Ebony Riding Club from Brixton for £2,000.00 to pay for 30 children to have a course of lessons in London. The Ebony Riding Club is run by Roz Spears and helps under privedged children from some of the poorest areas in London. The children were invited to Hickstead by Dane Rawlins and were thrilled to have Emile present the cheque in the International arena...

Funds were recently raised by the Charity holding a Midsummers Evening at Finchcocks Musical Museum in Goudhurst, Kent. Guests were treated to an evening of music, a buffet supper and an Auction of Promises finishing with with singers 'Les Skylarks' from Paris! The evening was a great success and raised over £7,500.00. Guest speaker Sam Martin from Vauxhall Farm in Lambeth spoke of his experiences growing up in Lambeth and how horses had changed his life when he first went to Vauxhall Farm and learnt to ride on a donkey! Sam is now on a quest to represent Nigeria in the 2012 Olympics and is receiving a course of lessons from Emile through the Foundation.

The Foundation is also funding a project in partnership with the BEF in Greenwich which will involve children from Eltham Green College having a course of lessons through the school year.

There are other projects in the process of being funded and the Foundation is being approached by a number of schools. Obviously the Foundation welcomes donations, ideas on fund raising events and can be contacted on 01435 866766 or on the website www.emilefauriefoundation.org.uk
