All the Foundations previous projects are still continuing to be funded and the children are all enjoying their riding . The Foundation receives many photos and thank you letters from the children which is wonderful!!

Lang trees School in Reading have started their riding lessons at Checkerdon Equestrain Centre and are having a wonderful time. This terms lessons have been generously sponsored by thee owners Toby and Jennifer Greenaway and we hope the Foundation will be able to continue with their lessons in the future.

Stepney Stables in Newcastle has sent us the good news that their students on the scheme have all passed their ABRS 1 & 2 Exams and are now going onto their BHS Stage 1 none of which would of been possible without the Foundations funding. Emile is delighted that these students are doing so well and are showing great dedication and enthuasium!

Ebony Horse Club held its Riding Championships at Chelsfield Riding Centre in Orpington on February 17th. The children had a riding session and stablemanagement section to be judged on. Mary-anne attended and judged the Riding sections, 'It was great to see the children riding and I was impressed by their attitude to the horses and the improvement some of them had made since last year. It was a fun afternoon and it was great to be involved with the children'. Local Rider magazine attended and have done an article on the event for their magazine.(photos below!)

Students from New Brompton College in Gillingham are about to commence a course of lessons at Callum Park in Gillingham. Managing Directoe John McGee is giving lessons at a reduced fee to a group of students and is keen to support the Foundations' work.

NEW PROJECTS:

HULL : The Hull Compact Centre run by David Bull approached the Foundation at the end of last year to hopefully set up at project with the Foundation. Hull has some of the most deprived areas in Europe and we are delighted that a new project named 'Engagement with Horses' will run over a 28 week period. The children will be riding at Bleach Riding Centre in Beverley, BHS Approved yard run by Joyce Fern and the children will receive an hours lesson and an hours stable management. Emile hopes to visit the project in the near future to see how the children are doing.

TELFORD : The Lord Silken School have recently applied to the Foundation for funding and it is hope we will be able to set up a project in the summer term.

WALTHAMSTOW, LONDON : South Grove Primary School which is is one the most deprived areas of this borough are hoping we can fund 60 Year 3 children to ride in the tranquil surroundings of Epping Forest. The Foundation is in the process of trying to set up funding to help this school.

THE WINCHESTER PROJECT, LONDON : This is a project which helps young women from deprived areas aged between 13-18 which have concerns with alcohol for many reasons. This is a pilot project to help tackle this problem and would like to be able to take these young people riding for all the benefits being with horses are proven to have. Emile is very keen to be involved and it is hoped to set up a project with Lee Valley Horse Riding Centre.

As you can see the Foundation is approached by projects daily and Emile is reluctant to say no to any of them so FUND RAISING is vital so please if anyone can organise an event of a raffle or even put a collection bucket out at a show please do so. Visit our Events for ideas and we are setting up A SPONSOR A CHILD TO RIDE CAMPAIGN through out the summer. More info to follow.
