NEW PROJECTS FOR 2010

HUNTCLIFFE SCHOOL, REDBOURNE MERE, NEW LINDSEY, NORTH LINCS.
Deprived area of Lincolnshire and applied for funding in August 2009. The Foundation funded last terms riding and is continuing with their funding through the year. The children ride at Caistor Riding Centre, Nr Grimsby weekly and have both Riding and stable management sessions.

WOODCHURCH HIGH SCHOOL, LIVERPOOL.
Situated in one of the most deprived areas of Liverpool and had lost its funding for riding last year the school approached the Foundation for help. The Foundation as able to step in and fund 10 children each week to attend Barnston Riding Centre in the Wirral where they have 2 sessions of riding and stable management.

LANGTREES HIGH SCHOOL READING.
This school is starting riding this term at Checkendon Riding Centre in Reading whose owner Jennifer Greenway has offered to sponsor their riding through the Foundation. This is a great example of Riding Centres being able to help by offering reduced rates and helping these children. This Centre is set in a beautiful setting and the children are very excited about starting their lessons. Head Teacher Suzanne Woods was overjoyed at the news saying it was one of the nicest phone calls she had had!!

NEW BROMPTON COLLEGE, MARLBOROUGH ROAD, GILLINGHAM.
This school applied for funding and will commence as soon as possible. Although not an inner city this school struggles to be able to fund activities such as riding and the children are not able to afford the lessons. Some rural areas have problems and often do not receive any help from local authorities so it’s important these schools are supported as well. The school hopes to start riding at Callum Park Riding Centre this term.
